Willie Apiata leads march for last surviving member of Māori Battalion

Many people arrived in Rotorua to take part in a walk of remembrance for those soldiers of Company B in the 28th Māori Battalion who returned home from World War 2.

Victoria Cross recipient Willie Apiata led the march for the only surviving 28th Māori Battalion soldier, Robert Bom Gillies, and bereaved family members.
