Zion King seeks justice after being wrongly accused

53-year-old grandfather of 11, Zion King says it has been a hard road trying to rebuild his life since being falsely accused of killing his neighbour.

“I'm still fighting my innocence, now I'm out and all that, I've still gotta carry on and say I’m not this person, never did this crown,” says Zion.

Mr King has lodged a complaint with the Independent Police Conduct Authority and next year the complex and arduous task of filing civil proceedings will begin.

In 2010 the murder charges for the violent murder of Chattrice Maihi-Carroll against King were dropped, as they had no evidence to convict him.

Police say the case remains open, but for now King continues to live a humble existence as he fights for justice.
